Overview

The Williams Racing Developments chain drive differentials are designed to be drop-in replacements for the Quaife style differential commonly used in
D-Sports, C-Sports, F1000, and many other chain drive applications. Built from aerospace materials and designed using the latest in CAD and Finite Element Analysis software, our product offers a much needed
alternative with increased performance at a lower weight. Typical weight savings are 5-6 lbs of rotational weight. Internals are based on the WRD race winning modified Salisbury limited-slip differential
with multiple ramp angles available for fine tuning. This modified design increases turn-in performance and nearly eliminates inside-rear wheelspin on corner exit allowing the driver to get
on the power sooner resulting in faster lap times. This is the same modification as that currently being used by Keith Lively, Leo Sismani, and David Wilcox in national Formula Atlantic events.
This differential has won multiple National races and set multiple lap records as driven by JR Osborne, Mark Jaremko, Jean-Luc Liverato, and many others. All drivers have commented that this diff completely transforms the car in the low speed and medium speed corners enabling deeper braking, quicker car rotation and earlier power application. The following is a quote from Mark Jaremko following his first tests:
“Compared to stock, the first thing you notice about the Williams Racing Diff is the added traction and rear end throttle-on stability out of slow and medium speed corners, this is a key performance advantage. The second advantage is rear tire temps and degradation, the quaife diff locks abruptly and has a tendency to spin the rear tires causing added tire temperature and wear over a long run or race distance.”

WRD-CDD-1000
The WRD-CDD-1000 model is a drop in replacement for the differentials in Stohr,
West, and similar style chassis. Weight is 14.5 lbs complete as pictured with bearings and oil, a typical savings of 4 lbs over stock with the increased performance from the modified Salisbury design. Weight without bearings is 12.3 lbs. A CAD packaging model and drawing are available by clicking the links below.

Pricing and Availability: The WRD-CDD-1000 model is available now and retails for $2950. Please contact us to place your order.
The current configuration supports the stock CV joints used on most chain drive vehicles including the Stohr and West chassis. Tripod options are available as well (see below). Please contact us for more information on output flange and drive axle options.

WRD-CDD-2000
The WRD-CDD-2000 is an ultra-lightweight version of the 1000 model. All
dimensions and internal components are identical, but the use of advanced materials such as Magnesium and Titanium bring the weight down to 13.0 lbs, a 1.5 lbs weight savings from the 1000 model and
typically 5 lbs lighter than the quaife style differential. Decreasing rotational mass will allow the vehicle to accelerate (and decelerate) faster resulting in faster lap times. CAD drawings and other
documents can be downloaded in the WRD-CDD-1000 section above. (The 2000 and 1000 models are dimensionally the same.)
Pricing and Availability: Pricing TBD, please contact us for more information.

WRD-CDD-3000
The WRD-CDD-3000 model is a direct replacement for the Quaife QDF7ZR typically
used on Speads and other chain drive vehicle chassis. Weight of the entire assembly (as pictured including bearings) is 12.25 lbs. Weight without bearings is 10.35 lbs.

Tripod Option
In addition to the standard option of CV flanges, a Tripod option is available. The tripod housings spline directly onto the output shafts eliminating the need for bolt-on housings. The tripod option saves a substantial amount of weight in the drivetrain. Please call for more details.
